Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Supervising the team of Scientists and Technical Assistants in a diagnostic high throughput NGS department
  • Streamlining the production of diagnostic Whole Genome Sequencing, Whole Exome Sequencing, and NGS Panel Sequencing in our production unit with Illumina NovaSeq, HiSeq4000, NextSeq, and MiSeq instrumentation and compatible workflow automatization
  • Maintaining QM guidelines and SOPs in diagnostic processes
  • Implementing and following QC measures in NGS operations
  • Working closely with Clinicians, Bioinformatics, Lab scientist and R&D team to streamline and improve processes and troubleshoot results when deviating from the expected outcome
  • Implementing new reagent kits, protocols in clinical diagnostics with respect to current state of the art in NGS field
  • Management of resources and guaranteeing organizational flexibility in order to scale up operations
  • Presenting data to clients and at international conferences

You have the following skills and qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry or any related field
  • Excellent knowledge and previous hands on experience with NGS Technologies including Illumina Platforms in projects related to high throughput Whole Exome, Whole Genome and NGS panels
  • Furthermore, specific experience on processing human germline and tumor sample is desired
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience, preferably in an international environment
  • Thorough understanding of current NGS space (various kits, designs, methodologies, automation, etc.) is mandatory
  • Experience of working in a clinical lab is desired
  • Familiarity with QC measures, project planning, is a significant advantage
  • Good organizational and excellent documentation skills with an ability to adhere to detailed operating procedures
  • Ability to plan and work independently as well as a part of a diverse team of experts
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, to handle multiple projects and meet project deadlines
  • Excellent knowledge of English (oral and written)
  • Self-motivated with high levels of personal drive and energy
