You will be responsible for:

As Project Manager for our biobank, you will take on the responsibility to manage the sample archiving and biobank processes contributing to our accredited, world leading repository for rare diseases and introduce innovative workflow and biobank process improvements – starting from sample entry to processing and archiving.
  • Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of innovation and improvement projects related to biobank processes
  • Alignment with the lab organization, as well as sample flow between the German and U.S. laboratory,
  • Planning and defining scope of the project, based on use cases and roadmap as defined by product management and key users, activity planning, resource planning, developing time lines, cost and budget estimation.
  • Resolve problems, identify and mitigate potential risks or delays
  • Communicate project status to management, product management and business clients, and propose changes in project scope, timeline, or plans if necessary
  • Decisive leadership of inter-disciplinary project teams and working with vendors
  • Supporting the increasing level of automation and digitization, closely coordinating IT software, hardware and user requirements
  • Identify and monitor quality, regulatory, security, and technical measures to support biobank processes. Identification of optimization needs within current workflows.
  • Implementation of training QM relevant topics and continuous education of the employees being involved directly and indirectly in the diagnostic processes, as well as updating SOPs


You have the following skills and qualifications:

  • University degree and at least 3+ years professional experience in process or project management
  • Strong desire to develop and improve workflows with a clear implementation goal
  • Experience in the field of biobanking, healthcare or pharma is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts
  • Affinity to IT, privacy and quality requirements, such as GLP, GMP, ISO15189, ISO13485, ISO9001
  • Familiar with project management software, such as Microsoft Project.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills both in English and in German
