Your tasks and responsibilities:

As (Senior) Product Owner Data Enablement you are key for the success of the companies’ data strategy. In close alignment with all relevant stakeholders, you will collect and prioritize requirements to our department, manage their adequate implementation according to budget, quality and time and become a matter expert in the topics you work on.

  • You are the central contact for in- or external customers during the entire life cycle of data enablement projects, from ideation, via analysis, planning and implementation to delivery and aftercare.
  • You work closely with key departments (e.g. Product management, IT, Legal) and matter experts, which could be in the role of an internal customer but also support you in conceptualizing and implementing best in class solutions.
  • You overview varying ideas and opinions and guide their consolidation with continuous focus on the overall development of our data asset.
  • You proactively identify enhancements and shortcuts, align them with relevant stakeholders and manage their implementation with the involved in- or external teams.
  • You ensure efficiency within your projects and offer transparency to your team and line-management by documenting the contents, progress and learnings of your projects using common tools (e.g. Confluence, Jira, MS Project).

You have the following skills and qualifications:

  • You hold a university degree in computer science, business informatics, bioinformatics, mathematics, natural science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in leading agile or classic projects in the context of data driven services or applications. Specific experience in healthcare or other sensitive data related industries or contexts is a big plus.
  • You are familiar with concepts of modern data processing approaches (e.g. cloud computing, containers, scaling infrastructures) or relevant data protection frameworks (e.g. GDPR).  
  • You are experienced in stakeholder management and know how to present complex topics adequately to varying audiences.
  • You think outside the box and seeing yourself not only managing projects, but also become the expert that owns and develops topics long-term.  
  • You are a goal driven team player and love to work within a team of data enthusiasts to jointly bring genetic data driven healthcare to the next level.
  • You love the challenge to develop solutions that combine full compliance with maximum flexibility in data usage.

About the Team:

The Data Enablement team is reporting to the Chief Data Officer, owner of the companies’ central data asset, the CENTOGENE Biodatabank. Our mission is to maximize the value of that asset with regards to the company strategy, by ensuring a company-wide consistent, efficient, and compliant usage of the asset as well as by developing new products and services upon it. In this context we function as a service provider to other departments requesting new features, but also proactively driving innovation on the interface between business, IT and legal.
